newsletter With a thriving winery in Carlsbad, California, plus a nifty tasting room in San Diego's local mountains, Witch Creek Winery specializes in handcrafted wines that are small lot-fermented and oak-aged. "In the style of Gigondas", "Carignan," and "Nebbiolo" are just a few of their lesser known but highly enjoyable offerings. As a (former) shareholder in the winery, I always enjoyed their many eclectic vintages—so much so that I edited their monthly newsletter for two years...just for the fun of it. And in case you're wondering about the publication's name, during the fermentation process winemakers will open a barrel and take a small sample to see how their creations are coming along. This minute sampling is called "thieving from the barrel." And now you know the rest of the story. Contributions:
